Her First Wave is a panorama of Kilkee West End with a small family silhouetted against a February climate in West Clare, Ireland.  It’s a painting inspired by a photo of someone taking a photo of someone who is still innocent (probably) of screens and phones.

With a limited run of 200, this has been a very popular print both home and away as it shows The West End in relative detail while showcasing part of the tremendous Kilkee Bay that tourists fall in love with.  It measures 10″ x 16″, the same as the original painting which was painted on wood and the wood grain can be seen in the print.  The buildings are sketchily drawn but one of my customers was delighted when she spotted a relative’s house.

As someone said on Instagram about the clouds – “someone went away and left the candy floss machine running”.  They painted themselves not long after I touched the board.
