I’m a pleinair painter, sketcher, life drawer, portrait artist, fantasy and surrealist artist (at least in my fantastically surrealist brain until I actually produce something imaginative apart from having drawn a few dragons on the backs of envelopes here and there…)

I have been drawing in some shape or form all my life or at least not long after I was born in Kilrush, County Clare in 1972. Captain America, Superman, Batman were my first influences artistically! I’m sure copying and sketching these characters when a child has had an influence on my interest in life drawing. My father encouraged me to draw as a child telling me one of his relatives was a fantastic artist. Teachers complimented me in school and it stuck. I had the concentration for it and the interest and I’ve kept it up until the present, January 2026.
